I am an animal advocate. I don’t throw paint on people wearing furs, I’d don’t march around with picket signs; I do give to two animal charities annually and I do prefer to rescue an animal rather than buy from a breeder. That said… The testing of products on animals is inhumane and unnecessary.
Animal Products In Skincare Products
What you’re looking for here is vegan skin care products. Some products on the market use animal products and by products in their ingredients. The good news is that there are not only vegan skincare products but makeup and even as far as makeup brushes that are all vegan. These products have been given a status known as cruelty free. Names you may recognize that fall into this category, to name just a few, are as follows: Terra Firma Cosmetics, Tommy Hilfiger, Victoria’s Secret, Shaklee Corporation, Revlon (only specific products), Paul Mitchell, Nivea USA, Liz Claiborne Cosmetics, Hydroxatone, Giovanni, Avon, Almay and Aveda.
That’s Really Not Your Color
Even though a company may not include animal products in their list of ingredients they may still be one of the companies still around that test their products on animals. Marketed skin care products by Neo Strata are absolutely neither derived from animals nor tested on them; this also goes for their Exuniance.
Lactobionic acid, lanolin and beeswax are just a few examples of animal products or by products used in skincare.
